Our school includes 12 face to face classrooms,  2 special education classrooms, a library, a cafeteria, a gymnasium, and an auditorium. We house a state-funded  PreK classroom which can serve up to 15 students.  We also have a Head Start program housed on campus in partnership with the Community Action Program of North Alabama.

For the 2023 - 2024 school year, there are approximately 215 students enrolled.  The staff includes 12 homeroom teachers, 2 special education teachers, 2 special education aides,  and 2 teachers' aides. We also provide a  counselor, a librarian,  a reading coach, a math coach, an interventionist, a principal, a secretary/bookkeeper, and a custodian.  We have 5 buses that transport our students to and from Hazlewood Elementary.

After sixth grade, our students move to either Hatton High School or East Lawrence Middle School. We work tirelessly to make sure our students have a smooth transition to these campuses. The faculty and staff members of Hazlewood school take great pride in trying to make a difference in the lives of our students both personally and academically. Our faculty and staff are role models who strive to develop relationships with all students. Using the latest tools, technology and strategies, we set high expectations for students’ academic success. Using both traditional and virtual platforms, we expect students to take personal responsibility for their learning while modeling best practices and providing them with the necessary tools and support to excel.
